Recording for school CD

Great fun was had this week as we began recording our first school c.d in many years. Between singers and musicians its fair to say that there is some fantastic talent in Scariff N.S. Huge thanks to Matt Purcell for coming out to record us . He really enjoyed his time in SNS. We are really excited to hear the finished product and for the parents and wider community to enjoy this project.
Thanks to all the children from second class to sixth class who participated, staying after school and giving up lunch breaks to come and practice. It was a great experience for all involved!

Learning about Native Trees of Slieve Aughty

Mr. Keane’s Class had a visit from Andrew St. Ledger of the Woodland League. The children learned all about Native Irish trees in the Slieve Aughty area. They also planted acorns and hazelnuts as part of the “forest in a box” project. The talk was very informative and enjoyed thoroughly by the pupils. A special thank you to Mr. Andrew St. Ledger.
